Andy Ammons, President of Ammons Development Group, is the second generation to carry on the ideals that have established the company’s solid reputation for excellence throughout the years. Andy's father, Jud Ammons, founder of Ammons, Inc., is highly respected throughout the Triangle area. He is best known for completing north Raleigh's first planned unit development, Greystone Village. Over the past two decades, Jud was instrumental in the development of more than 3,000 acres, an accomplishment that secured his position as a leader in the industry. Many of his communities still proudly bear the family name.

Andy's experience in planning, designing and developing communities began in the early 70’s with his own part in the development of Greystone Village. After graduating from the School of Engineering at North Carolina State University in 1982, Andy worked as a project engineer for several Florida-based construction companies. He then rejoined the Ammons family of companies. Gradually, Jud turned over the leadership of the company to Andy, who began development of the family's first coastal resort communities in Wilmington and Nags Head. Andy attributes his success to his ability to use all the resources at hand, including growing up as the son of Jud Ammons.

Andy, who subscribes to the same beliefs as his father, will be quick to tell you he doesn't fit the large corporate mold and has kept Ammons Development Group small. Andy believes in honesty and integrity, and being directly accessible and accountable in all aspects of the development process. According to Andy, this ensures that when the job is done, it is done right.

Andy and his wife Jan live in Wake Forest with their children, Jessie, Max and Drew. They take great pride in their church, school and community and are actively involved on various boards and committees. In addition, Andy and his family participate in many civic, recreational and historical groups.
